Version 1.1 is now out!


Hello everyone! v1.1 for Noel and the Tower of Doom is finally here. I just began playtesting my game for myself and came across some really nasty bugs, so I went around and fixed as many as I could. I could have fixed more, especially for bugs later in the game, but I didn't want to delay in getting this update out and making the game actually playable. This update is considered v1.1 rather than 1.0.3 because it fixes bugs that make the game impossible to play, and thus warrants a new version number.  Further bugfixing patches will be considered 1.1.whatever, and the 1.2 update might be the last one which will add more detailed battle animations, finishing Ending 13, and making the secret events easier to come across when equipping a certain item. The final update may also be 1.3 and instead 1.2 would be everything minus the new animations, as making new battle animations/action sequences is very time consuming. Anyways stay tuned for the last few updates for Noel and the Tower of Doom and the upcoming demo release of Chronicles Meteorfall, my first commercial game! Changes

  • Buffed the "Elheal" light magick art.
  • Nerfed the "Dark Bane", "Dark Nova", and "Dark Blade" enemy arts.
  • Gave Nosferatu AP lifesteal as well as HP lifesteal.
  • Changed art, state, and element icons.
  • Lowered boss HP by around 25%.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed game breaking bug where the cutscene at the beginning of the wind ascent would repeat forever.
  • Fixed game breaking bug where going to floor 19 would leave you stuck in a wall.
  • Fixed game breaking bug where the bridges in the wind ascent didn't allow you to cross them.
  • Fixed game breaking bug where the sparkles appearing with the defeat of Bubbles marking where the Secret Report II is would remain there and be impassible.
  • Fixed game breaking bug where attempting to go to F24 would cause you to become stuck in the sky.
  • Fixed text spacing errors
  • Fixed bug where going to F3 of the school would softlock the game.
  • Fixed bug where the doors for anna's shop and the item shop would move down after interacting with them past the first time.
  • Fixed some spelling errors.
  • Fixed scripting errors in the Black Market.
  • Fixed bug where drip.ogg would continue to play even after leaving the NEVI Warehouse.
  • Fixed bug where enboost and endshield were considered anima magick and not light magick.
  • Fixed the "tidal wave" enemy art to no longer crash the game.
  • Fixed bug where Steal AP didn't steal AP.
  • Fixed bug where the screen would remain dark after the second Zed flashback.
  • Fixed bug where the camera in the second Zed flashback would be positioned incorrectly.
  • Fixed bug where the secret report text would not appear om the journal. You can now read secret reports by selecting the item in the menu rather than through the journal.
  • Fixed lore inconsistencies in the secret reports.
  • Fixed bug where Divine Arts were not learnable.
  • Fixed the trickster thief art to actually do damage.

Oh, and one more thing. RMN (rpgmaker.net) is currently down and has been down since early April. This is due to the sever host going down as the site was running on ancient severs once owned by a long dead company. The code for the RMN server was just running in the background while no one noticed for years, and once whoever ran the wherehouse where the servers were being kept figured out RMN was still on they pulled the plug and the servers went down. However RMN anticipated this and backed everything up, so everything, including my games and all my content/history on there, is still saved. Currently the RMN staff are looking for a new webhost for the RMN servers which could take a few months. I was temporarily suspended from RMN from December 5th 2023 to June 5th 2024 so I couldn't access my account to update things anyways, but if and when the site comes back up my games are NOT updated on there and until they are you should download them from here on itch.io, not RMN. If you are a potential reviewer who has the RMN versions of my games, download the latest version from itch.io as the RMN versions are very broken and neigh unplayable compared to the updated itch.io versions.
